Arsenal in NYC!

I love blogging about my wild times at Nevadas, but this is a noble cause. Granted I doubt we can have any say in the foreign round's location, but don't you want to try anyway? In the post below, I concocted the idea for a petition of Arsenal Fans in NYC to show that our city is the place for the Gunners next year if this foreign round malarky happens. If you are a Gooner in Exile, pledge your support by leaving a comment whilst I figure out how to make an internet petition. Meanwhile, I'll drum up some support from across the pond in an effort to make this memorable.
Please write in for no other reason than I totally want to get Wenger out for a shot and a brew after the game. Its a dream.

While I understand the fear of a extra 39th game messing up the stats, screw it, it can only evolve the league as an international phenom. Do it!

The thing is...this.

Suppose in that 39th game, we draw Villa or Everton, and Chelsea gets Birmingham City or something.

We draw, they win, and we wind up one point down in the standings.

We'd be screaming bloody murder.

and suppose the opposite happens. The point isn't the standings but the fact that we might get to see it live. Doesn't that matter more?

crappest idea ever.

Totally destorys the integrity of the most balanced league schedules. Home and away. Doesn't get any more fair than that.

Plus there is no guarantee we'd get to see our team. It's more than likely they'd go to the far or mid east, where most of the working class/lower class fans would be priced out anyway, by the very folks who could probably afford to fly to the UK anyway.

Idea is already dead in the water. FIFA, CONCACAF, AFC are all against it.

A compromise however may be to move the latter stages of the Carling cup abroad (say rnd of 16 or QF's on). Play league games in place of carling cup games to push up the end of the season. Play the last few rounds abroad. in late apr/may or even in the summer.

It may work to add a little more prestige the CC.

Wenger said the idea has merit, and as a loyal soldier in the 4 man army, who am I to question the general.
